Close Brain Injury

Close Stroke
AVM, stroke in 2005 and another less severe one in 2006. Fist one caused speech, walking and balance problems, have gone through multiple procedures to repair AVM. Another bleed since then, though not nearly as serious.

- Gamma Knife Working / Worked
- Six mo. CT shows it's working.

Treatments
- Dilantin Working / Worked
- Takes time to get your level right but once it works it works.
- Keppra Working / Worked
- Was hesitant to remove some dilantin and sub Keppra but it works.
- Phenobarbital Working / Worked
- My seizures were usually in early AM so I take it before I go to bed. Keeps me asleep for about 8 hrs., past the window of when my seizures were.
Open Lymphedema
Perhaps due to a weight gain, not sure.
Treatments
- Wrapping Working / Worked
- I did it and it worked. However, I didn't use the compression stockings after I did the wrapping and a few months later I popped right back out. I'm currently doing the second round of wrapping in six months.
