Welcome! (btw). Looks like we've had our RA about the same time. I see you guys are from Va. My gf and I vacation there every year, and are finally looking for work there. Our massage therapist there told us there are Yankies (who visit on vacation) and ****g Yankies, who move there, Next Door to you! Well, sorry, but we really love your state! Glad you found us here. These are the only people who understand my RA (besides my RD).

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I've had RA for 2+ years, with loss of activities and mobility, but not yet severe. My husband doesn't understand and I feel bad burdening my other family with issues. Hoping to make friends, share info and relieve stress/aggravation.
Treatments
- Arava Working / Worked
- Working still, no side effects, using in conjunction with Remicade.
- Celebrex Working / Worked
- Excellent; helped alleviate pain from three days into treatment.
- Enbrel Working / Worked
- Worked at first but then didn't relieve pain/swelling well enough. Not enough coverage for severity of RA.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- Using for replacement; not sure how it's actually helping but told must take.
- Methotrexate Not Working
- Due to side effects such as constant nearly migraine headache, and profound dizziness that caused me to fall down flights of stairs and walk into walls. This was injectable MTX.
- Prednisone Not Working
- No go due to inability to sleep while taking, hyperactivitiy, weight gain and inability to control temper.
- Remicade Working / Worked
- Taking still; appears to be relieving my joint swelling and pain symptoms. Just finished loading period; now experimenting with dosage and time between infusions.
- Tylenol Not Working
- Useless for pain relief.
- Voltaren Working / Worked
- However, had horrible GI side effects, to wit constipaton unable to be relieved for 6-7 days.
- Vitamin D Working / Worked
- Using due to chronic low VitD. Helps with energy and emotional stability.
