Close Acne
Struggling with bad skin since I was a kid, acne became a problem when the pain from the breakouts around my mouth, hurt too much to eat like normal. Have today very few breakouts after years of trying, and doing everything, but still feels like I'm just managing to keep it under control...
Treatments
- Apple Cider Vinegar Not Working
- Bullshit. Makes it worse, and can do permanent damage. Stay away!
- Benzoyl Peroxide Somewhat Helpful
- Helped some, but probably works better for people with mild acne. Can be a little itchy and make your skin dry, but if you're like me than it's a small cost.
- Differin Working / Worked
- Works better than Benzoyl Peroxide, and is adequate for local treatment when taking oral medication. Side effects: Dry skin, itchy.
- Proactiv Somewhat Helpful
- Tried it when my acne was at its worse with some success. Think it can help a lot, but its not for everyone. Just like washing though, don't over do!
- Tetracycline Working / Worked
- The only thing that finally helped, but it took 2 tries before it stayed away. Side effects: Indigestion, thrush, lactose intolerance (due to the lack of dairy while eating the pills, because it counters the effect.) But for me, it was all worth it.
- Washing Not Working
- Made it worse from over doing it. I don't consider it necessary to do anything beyond regular hygiene. Very important not to use anything irritating or with perfume, as well as anything drying.
