Close Chronic Pain
18yrs ago, I injured my back at L5-S1. I have gone through 9 surgeries that has failed. I now have a Spine Stimulator in my back, and the pain has not decreased any. Due to the pain I had to retire earlier than I wanted. I have applied for SS twice, have been turned down twice.
Treatments
- Acupressure Not Working
- have gone two or three times and never got any relief. By the way I hate NEEDLES but I felt if it worked go for it.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
- During my real bad days it ease the sharpness of the pain
- Cymbalta Not Working
- I haven't given up on it yet still hoping
- Meditation Too Soon to Tell
- I have just been introduced to it, but have trouble relaxing.
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- Did nothing
- Oxycodone Somewhat Helpful
- Takes away the sharpness, but not the pain
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- caused more pain than I could handle, even pool therapy increased the pain
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- It's hard to get use to the tingling in my legs and little to stop or ease the pain
Close Back Pain
I have suffered chronic back pain for 18 years have tried everything I know to ease the pain. Hope somebody can share something new for me to try
Treatments

- Bedrest Somewhat Helpful
- Can't stay in bed the rest of my life
- Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
- eases up the pain on bad days, but only for a few hours
- Cortisone (Injection) Not Working
- Epidural Injection Not Working
- Lost count as to how many, but none has done anything for me
- Fentanyl Somewhat Helpful
- makes me very sensitive to heat and direct sunlight
- Hydrocodone Not Working
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- caused more pain
- Relaxation Somewhat Helpful
- have difficulty relaxing, with pain I can't get comfortable
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- had a nerve stimulator put in December, the help is very little
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionDue to the suffering with chronic pain for the past 19 years, I have become so depressed all I feel the only way to stop the pain is in death.
Treatments
- Cymbalta Considering
- haven't seen any improvements
- Prozac Too Soon to Tell
- don't feel any difference
- Psychotherapy Working / Worked
- don't know
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- I have a great family, and friends. The do what they can to cheer me up, get out of house and do something (even if it does cause me more pain afterwords) I wouldn't let them know this because they are trying.
