Close Alcoholism
Alcoholism crept up on me like it does to all of "us". Been depressed since I was young. Trying very hard to stay sober.
Treatments
- AA Meetings Too Soon to Tell
- After my slip I guess I need to take a new look at AA and pay attention a little more. I want so much to be the Deb I used to be. Fun, lively etc.
- Prozac Working / Worked
- 40mgs Is working wonders now that I am sober.
- Trazodone Working / Worked
- I can finally sleep all night without waking.
- Willpower Somewhat Helpful
- Often it's very strong but sometimes extremely weak.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionMy Dad died in a motorcycle accident when I was 17. I'm an only child and was extremely close to him because my mother made both of our lives drama filled. So when he died I was left with her. Then the drinking started.

- best thing in the world if you can get it. My husband is consistently supportive. Some family members make things more difficult.

Open Psoriasis
Affected Areas: Psoriasis of the SkinI have what they call Guttate psoriasis. I had strep throat almost every year when I was small and scarlet fever one year. When I was 13 I got psoriasis. I found that it is an auto-immune disorder. I am now, at 56, suseptible to all kinds of infections and my doctor told me when they cure cancer they will cure psoriasis. Good luck, right?
Treatments
- Coal Tar Working / Worked
- Balnetar bath oil
- Hydrocortisone Working / Worked
- Beta-Val Cream. If you put some on your lesions, cover it with saran wrap and leave on a few hours eventually those lesions will disappear for a while that is.
- Phototherapy Working / Worked
- Have tried this a couple of times in order to be lesion free in Florida. Worked great for those couple of weeks.
- Soriatane Not Working
- Horrible experience. It made everything on my body peel including the bottom of my feet which made it painful to walk.
Open Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Have had IBS since I was 15 but it went undiagnosed until I was 46. I don't know that they even knew what it was back in 1966! Anyway, I have had episodes where I could not stand up completely straigtht because of the pain which always seemed to be caused by a stressful situation.
