I AM FINALLY FREE FROM BEING A SLAVE TO CIGARETTES. I DO NOT SMOKE ANY LONGER.ONE WEEK AGO I SAID THATS IT I AM FINISHED. THE WIERD THING IS I HAD A SPIRITUAL HEALING AT CHURCH.AND FOR 3 DAYS I WAS LUCKY IF I HAD 2 HOURS OF PAIN.WAS PRETTY SURE I HAD BEEN DELIVERED. AND THAN EVERYTIME I SMOKED A CIGGARETTE, THE PAIN WILL GET TOTTALLY OFF THE WALL WORSE,
ANYWAY I SAID THATS IT I PUT THE CARTON O CIGAREETES.SO I NO LONGER SMOKE.WENT COLD TURKEY.DID NOT HAVE ANY WITHDRAWLS WHATSOEVER. DON'T THINK ABOUT THEM.DON'T WANT EVEN LOOK AT THEM. SO I WAS DEFINITELY DELIVERED FROM CIGARETTES. NOW IF I CAN GET THE SAME WAY WITH THE PAIN. BECAUSE THE PAIN IS BACK FULL FORCE. I CAN NOT TFOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT WHY.

Congratulations on your quit! Good on you, it's a great thing to do. What kind of pain are you having? Is it something a doctor could help you deal with? Is it physical or emotional? Do you know what's causing it?

Are you talking about the Fibro pain? If you are then I understand your pain and truly feel your despair and frustration. Sometimes it just becomes overwhelming and you think that it won't ever stop or get better. But there will be good days. Please don't lose hope.

I remember quitting smoking back in 1987. I kept having dreams about it for a while. How has your struggling been going?
A good verse to help you is in Romans 6:7: "because anyone who has died has been freed from sin. " Paul said that we are to reckon ourselves to be dead to sin and many people miss this. People are trying to become dead to sin and do not realize that they are already dead to sin. When Jesus died on the cross then that old nature with all its sin went to the grave with Jesus to never rise again (Romans 6:3-6). It is only when we literally see ourselves as dead to sin as meaning that it no longer holds any power over us then living with that knowledge gives us strength to over come sin.
Remember, Colossians 2:6 tells us that as we received Christ Jesus that we are to walk in Him. We receive Jesus by faith and our grow from beginning to end is by faith. To overcome even the strong sins of the flesh does not come by strong endeavors but by faith. Paul said in Galatians 5:16 that if we will "walk in the Spirit" then we SHALL NOT "fulfill the lusts of the flesh." Victory from beginning to end is in Christ and never in our self efforts.
Keep your gaze heavenward because as you behold Him and His beauty and not yourself then you can only grow into His glorious image (2nd Cor. 3:18).
