I'm 25 years old, married for going on 3 years. I have an amazing 19-month old son who brightens every moment of my day. I was a certified pharmacy technician for several years, until I was forced to quit work due to chronic pain.

My son is absolutely my main interest, he's a little comedian, and even at my worst moments of pain he brings a smile to my face! I enjoy reading, I'm trying to learn how to knit, and I love animals - if I had the money, I'd love to have a huge farm and adopt every stray animal there is! I was a horseback rider for 12 years, but I haven't been able to ride for several years due to the pain, and my current doctor advises against it. I miss it every day and definitely hope to get back in the saddle one day!

Welcome to DS and the SM group. I am so sorry that you have gone through this alone for so long but then agian I know what that is like too. Before I was finally diagnosed in 05 I had been going back and forth to my GP for years with no results. He would run a test and if it came back negative then he would just drop the subject until the next time I complained.Ironacly his Daughter that was in his practice took my case and went the one step farther by having a series of MRI`s done both with and without contrast. And there it was three syrnx in my spinal cord.. Would have liked to been there when the Dad doc found out it wasn`t all IN MY HEAD after all.
In late 2004 I started having severe back and leg pain, not following any sort of trauma. Eventually a thoracic MRI showed an arachnoid cyst along with 2 syrinxes(?). Though my MRI reports state the diagnosis of syringomyelia, I can't seem to find a doctor who will help me or answer my questions, which leaves me pretty confused and frustrated, as well as worried about my future. I'd love to have more children, but I have to admit I'm scared, since my condition seems to be steadily worsening.
I've been dealing with chronic pain for the past 4 years. I have been diagnosed with syringomyelia, and I suppose the 2 are related, though I'm struggling to learn more. I'm 25 years old and definitely get tired of hearing its impossible for me to experience chronic pain at my age, I would love not to hurt nearly every second of every day! I definitely feel as if my pain is worsening, and I'm scared about my future.
