About Me
I'm a 41 year old lady who had a long battle with alcoholism, which by the way kicked my behind. I am free "today" of the need to drink and the obsessive thoughts thanks to God! I was diagnosed with liver problems years ago but have recently (april 2009) diagnosed with end stage cirrhosis. Also, recently divorced after 14 years of marriage. But remarkably I feel better today than I have in years!! The real physical problem i am having now is with acites and it is frustrating!! But I try my best not to get down. Try to stay positive and stay in the now. All prayers and positive information and thought are appreciated and welcomed. I am greatful that i've found this site!!

Interests
I am a people person! I am trying to get back into college going into the medical field, as I would love to be able to help others. There are so many people that need understanding care not just medical care and i hope to be able to achieve that1 :)

- Dietary Modification Somewhat Helpful
- i stay confused mixed information from doc and people on what to eat what not to eat what and how much to drink. nothing seems to work c onsistantly
Close Alcoholism
i am an alcoholic -recovering but none the less an alcoholic

- 12 Step Program Somewhat Helpful
- have never completed them all -- i don't think i make a good sponsee
- AA Meetings Somewhat Helpful
- Ativan Working / Worked
- on;y thing i can use that helps my nerves and that i don't abuse --- but i know this isnt true in most cases -- also been used to detox me at times in the past
- Campral Working / Worked
- i stopped smoking -- don't think it help with the alcohol though
- Cold Turkey Working / Worked
- never worked long
- Detox Working / Worked
- always worked never kept me on the wagon though
- Folic Acid Somewhat Helpful
- i really don't know but i take it
- Outpatient Treatment Program Somewhat Helpful
- expensive -- think AA is just as helpful
- Residential Treatment Center Working / Worked
- worked while i was there
- Trazodone Not Working
- dont take it anymore -- helped for a while for sleep -- then stopped
