About Me
I was married at age 17 and had 2 boys by the time I was 20. Spend my life raising my kids who I love very much. They grow up, move away and leave ya with the abusive thing you married. I finally broke free in Dec 2007 and have tried to not look back. Moved from CO to NY and lived in my parents house upstairs and have been their helper/slave for 2 years now. Father belongs in nursing home and mother can barely breathe taking care of him. I help out with moving stuff around in the house, shoveling, laundry, some cleaning etc. and taking him to dr appts or staying around so my mom can leave the house for a bit. In the meantime I met a man who has similiar background as mine except he was never married. We decided to tie the knot July 17th, 2009. I am glad we did, but feeling that getting to know ya stress that goes with a new marriage. He is kind of sensitive and takes things wrong way sometimes. But we love each other so I am sure things will be just fine. He don't yell at me or hit me or call me names so that is a plus. I have 3 grandchildren and want to visit them soon if I can.

Interests
I like being on the computer, baking, sewing or cooking something interesting. I like to read but just haven't had the concentration to do so for years from the bipolar. I like accounting figures...doing the budget or paying bills is fun to me. (yes, I must be weird). Should go to the gym but have been so tired and run ragged lately that I have only been there once to swim.

Close Bipolar Disorder
I am bipolar and also have a son and niece who had bd. Just want some support.
Treatments
- Abilify Not Working
- Made me feel crappy so couldn't take it
- Ativan Working / Worked
- seems to work but wears off after 6 hrs and then can cause withdrawal symptoms.
- Depakote Not Working
- Took it years ago and it made me really angry and mean. Had to discontinue it
- Lamictal Not Working
- Got rash from it and felt lousy on it. Had to discontinue
- Lithium Working / Worked
- Seems to be working. Been on it past 2 years. Has its drawbacks and have to eat on time but as far as being stabilized goes it seems to work for me
- Risperdal Not Working
- Took it 8 months and it made me feel suicidal so had to discontinue it
- Seroquel Not Working
- Made me so sleepy I couldn't function all the next day so dr said I am too sensitive to it
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Made me too sleepy mid day. Didn't work for me
- Zyprexa Not Working
- Made me sleep 12 hrs or more a night.
