July 23, 2009
I went to see my doctor (who was on vacation....so had a fill in) for the results from the CT scan that had taken place July 8/09 after having high level of prolactin in blood - 23 (0-20 is normal range).
The CT scan resulted in showing a 2mm micro-adenoma (prolactinoma). The radiologist recommended a MRI scan to confirm the findings. My doctor sent the papers away requesting a scan that day. I have never been so scared before in my life.
I came home very scared and started searching online to what this meant. The replacement doctor, who doesn't speak English very well, didn't provide me with many details....when I asked him what the next steps were....he said I don't know I am not a neuorosurgeon!
I found this website which has helped hearing others going through (or have gone through) the same thing.
As my husband was out of town, I called him with the news. I also called a close friend of mine who also had difficulties TTC.
Next step is to break it to my parents.
