I am 38 and a single mom. I am scheduled for an LAVH on July 30th for recurring cervical/uterine cancer. I have had 2 surgeries 12 years ago to cure this, but this summer the tests showed that it is back. My doctor and I are both hopeful that it is contained in my uterus and cervix and that I can keep my ovaries. I am divorced and single. My family doesn't live near me, but I am so thankful that my father will be with me during and after surgery!!! I have friends and neighbors here to help me recover as well and they are like my extended family. My son is 10 and we have a dog named Lilly. She is adorable and she is a black puggle, which is a mixed breed. Her mother was a pug and her father was a beagle. She is a very affectionate lap dog.

I enjoy being with my son (I have him full time except during the summer when he goes to his Dad's). I enjoy singing, gardening, home improvements, cooking and watching football.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR POST in the Hysterectomy support group!!! You have eased my worries!!! I had a full hysterectomy plus a bilateral oopherectomy and had an ovarian cyst removed JUST this passed 9/2/09!
