I guess my answer was a little simplistic. My body does not get out of the recliner without sending shooting pains up through my feet and legs, thereby, waking me up to never sleep again that night. Ambien does work as a hypnotic but I am too old, fat and lazy to really get up and do something without knowing about it.
Here is hoping that the 'Get Well' symbol can be replaced one day by the rainbow sign - meaning you have rid yourself of a particularly nasty forms of drugs and I will then also send you flowers and a great big hug!

Have been taking ambien for a year and a half and now I need to get off of it and learn to sleep naturally again. Tried cold turkey and had a rough withdrawal so now I have just reduced the amount I was taking to 5mg. I need some advice as to how I can get off this drug? Thanks.
