Hi BH76:
I wanted to point out that most persons with IC take Atarax which is an anti-histamine which is from the older drug class however; ICers seems to respond better to this drug. Our bodies create to much histamine we have an over production of what is called mast cells. One of the reasons why Atarax works so well is due to the fact that it also aids sleep.

Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
I am a 32 year old female diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis 2 years ago. Like most of us, I have good days, bad days, and questions. Would love to be able to talk with others who have IC and can offer support and possible suggest things they've tried that have helped.
Treatments
- Baking Soda Working / Worked
- I only tried it once. I couldn't tolerate the taste and was very worried about the sodium content so I haven't tried it again.
- Bladder Distention Somewhat Helpful
- Bladder Instillation Somewhat Helpful
- Elmiron Somewhat Helpful
- Some days it seems to help a lot and other days I get the same symptoms I had before I started taking it.
- Pyridium Somewhat Helpful
