Where to turn? Mood
Wednesday, July 22, 2009 | A Call For Help story
This started when i was 19. I am now 37. At 19 I was told that I have Lupus and Arthritis. I have had numerous things (within the past few years) lately that have gone wrong. Last year is really when I started going completely down hill. I started feeling really shaky, heart was palpitating (still is), stomach issues (miserably), headaches, etc. I had to go to the ER twice thinking that I was having a heart attack. I was sent home both times and told that I look like an 18 yr. old. Not what I want to hear when I know that something is wrong with my body! I had to take off of work for 6 weeks and then came back still not well. I then found out (much later) that my gallbladder had 0% funtionality. They took that out. I started to feel better, but I am going right back down hill. Chest pains, palpitations, shaking, feel out of the ordinary? Anyway, I was told just last week after lots of bloodwork that the way my iron works in my body is abnormal. My iron level is at 234, saturation is at 60%, but ferratin is only a 14?? I have two different doctors telling me different things. One of them thinks that my numbers are "un-impressive" and the other is concerned enough to send me to get an "echo" done on my heart, see a genetic specialist, and then see a hematologist. I am so confused. I do not know much about all of this, but I do know that I feel really abnormal and I really need some REAL advice. Should I see another doctor? The one hematologist that I saw seems to think that it is no big deal, but yet the specialist says that i have all the traits of this disease and I need answers! My skin is very bronzed, I have extremely bad arthritis, etc. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do?
