About Me
I am currently a full time student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. I am married with no children, but 3 cats. I have been out of work since 2007, but hope to return very soon. I love movies, music (specifically Weird Al Yankovic), crafts, and cats.

Close Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
I am here to talk to others that are going through the same thing as me. I have had RSD for 2 years, stemming from a torn tendon and 8-week cast. I have had a spinal cord stimulator implanted, which does help to some extent.
Treatments
- Lyrica Not Working
- I switched to this medication for a short time. I did not notice a change in my pain, but did have a disturbing side effect. One day I suddenly got blurry vision in my right eye. The blurriness did not go away for a good day, at which point I decided the medication was not worth losing vision.
- Neurontin Somewhat Helpful
- I have been up to 1200 mgs 3 times per day, but currently down to 600 mgs 3 times per day. I attempted to go lower, but my pain increased quite a bit, so I know the medication is doing something. The only side effect I have noticed is a decreased memory. I find myself unable to think of the right work and get stuck sometimes forming sentences on paper.
Close Chronic Pain
I want to talk to others that suffer from chronic pain. I have had RSD in my right foot for 2 years.
Treatments
- Heat Working / Worked
- Heat is WONDERFUL! Warm baths work the best.
- Lidoderm Not Working
- I have tried these, but they are more painful to take off than for the amount of pain it deals with.
- Lyrica Not Working
- I lost the vision in my right eye and stopped taking it.
- Nerve Blocks Not Working
- I had 2 nerve blocks and they did not help the RSD in my foot.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- I can handled physical therapy now that I have my spinal cord stimulator, but could not handle it before. PT has been helpful to regain the use of my foot after 2 years of non-use
- TENS Not Working
- I did not have luck with this machine. It didn't seem to relieve my pain.
