Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
more than 3 years ago, I started with severe GI problems. Led to C-Diff and UC. Been in and out of hospital over the last 2 years. I've been trying EVERYTHING. I am beside myself. The pain has gotten horrible. I don't know what I am going to do.
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- Seemed to hurt my stomach even more.
- Flagyl Not Working
- One of the worst drugs I've ever taken. My body developed a rash, I felt so sick with fever, etc. and after a few days, I couldn't walk -- my knees were is such terrible pain. Upon stopping it, my mobility returned.
- Lialda Considering
- Don't know if it really did anything. I am still taking.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- It worked, but cannot be used indefinitely to treat UC. It made me break out severely on my back and chest.
- Probiotics Considering
- I have run the gamut of probiotics. Didn't really seem to help, but I am still taking.
- Remicade Somewhat Helpful
- Gives me a very short period of repreive from the illness. I am very frightened of the possibility of cancer. Seems to make me itch all over.
