Close Back Pain
I am trying to find out (for my dad), if anyone else has had problems with the implant location of a spinal cord stim. My dad's control box was implanted next to his spinal column and ended up tearing out through his skin about 18 mths later. Every place I have looked on-line and through the company says it is supposed to be implanted in the abdomen or buttocks. The good news is that another surgeon put a new box in his abdomen and took the other out. His stim is still working, better now
Treatments
- Bedrest Not Working

- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- Up to a point, then he could no longer help.
- Cortisone (Injection) Not Working
- Heat Not Working
- heat makes legs weaker
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- still use as needed
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- didn't really do much
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- helped until the stim came through the skin...built up the back muscles too much
- Stretching Working / Worked
- stretching and using a rolling pin on my legs helps the cramps
- TENS Working / Worked
- worked, but had to have a 2nd surgery to put the generator in a better location. Had to have reprogrammed several more times than the temporary one to work the way wanted...
