Close Hearing Loss & Deafness
Type: Sensorineural (Severe)I have worn hearing aids for 12 years. My mother is also HOH (profound), so I grew up with this but never thought it would happen to me. I struggle everyday and feel like I am starting to withdraw socially. I recently changed jobs and feel that was a huge mistake, because I can't seem to make myself fit in because I can't follow a conversation.
Treatments
- Hearing Aids Working / Worked
- Sometimes I hate them, but I could not live without them. I do at times, think they made my hearing worse, but I guess it is just that i can hear so much better with them.
- Lip Reading Somewhat Helpful
- I have never been trained, but I have definitely learned to do it.
