Close ADHD / ADD
My 7 yr old son has ADHD and has been on medications for 2 yrs now. I also have Adult ADD and take medications. We have been unhappy with the unpleasant side effects of the meds, and want to try a more natural approach.
Treatments
- Concerta Not Working
- He seemed more aggressive and emotional on this medication, did not work
- Focalin Working / Worked
- He currently takes 15 mg XR daily and 10 mg Focalin in the afternoons during homework time. This seems to have the least amount of side effects of all meds tried. He seems more like himself now.
- Vyvanse Somewhat Helpful
- His behavior at school dramatically improved, but this med was too strong for him and he seemed zoned out during the day and extremly moody in the evenings. He also lost 20 lbs while on this medicine, which is a lot for a 7 yr old.
