About Me
married, 3 girls (11, 14, 17)Diagnosed with cirrhosis in May of this year. went for routine (first one in years)and had elevated enzymes, red palms, spider veins, etc but no real lifechanging symptoms and nothing cause me any real concern, just didnt feel good. Stress, fatigue, aches but wrote it off as job, family and having finally quit drinking.Liver was palpable and CT showed enlarged liver and spleen. More tests and endoscopy showed grade I varices, biopsy showed cirrhosis with scarring. Finally got the Drs to quantify that I was at the "last part of early cirrhosis". have seen GI, Hep and transplant psych. now waiting for 6 month appt in late Aug. No alcohol since 2-23-09. Diagnosis was identified as cryogenic but I kow that it was at least mostly alcohol induced and I can only hope that is the sole cause.
