I am so glad I went to the country today. It was a stunningly beautiful day. Highs in the 60s, warm in the sun, cool in the shade, light breeze, bright blue clear sky. My perfect type of day. We woke up kind of early drove to my mom's new house and it ended up being quite the get together. Two aunts came, one cousin, my brother and his family. My mom and her husband, another distant cousin and his two girls. There's no electricity or plumbing yet. We peed in the woods (one of those times I happened to get a bush up my butt and pee on my hand on accident-I"m not good at the whole peeing in the woods thing). We had snacks and lots of food and drinks. We had a cheesecake to celebrate my brother's birthday. We built a huge fire and walked all through the woods checking out the creek at the back of the property. It's lovely property and the creek completely enthralled the boys. It has banks of clay along some parts and I joked that I would make my mother a set of dishes out of the clay. The boys got to ride on the four-wheeler my step dad brought. My mom gave me a tour of the house and discussed her plans- I can't wait until it's done. A guy I went out with New Year's Eve in 1987 built the house with his brother- and he'll probably finish it for them. His brother came by and that was nice- he said he remembered me partying with him out at his place when I was about 19 and I said no- I was married at 18- and my cousin said I was probably partying at 12. My brother and him like to talk about what a crazy lady I was as a teenager. It was a fun day. I loved being outside with no worries. We relaxed in the car, reading, listening to music, the 10 year old slept both ways, and talking about schedules and things for next week and what's coming up.

I guess my mom has gotten over the Thanksgiving thing- she didn't say anything- and my brother told me he talked to her about it too because she called him and was upset, but she seems fine now.

I was right about staying up late tonight doing laundry, I need to go to bed now!
