50 yr old professional computer operations worker. family has not been supportive, basically i did recovery alone. did have outside help from friends from work running my errands, but find support hard to find. 5 wks after surgery & still having drainage in part of the cut, on 3rd round of antibiotics & see doc in a few more weeks. Bowls have been hell since surgery, I have a 16 in. or so cut from above my navel straight down to bottom of belly. One good thing, can't eat much anymore, so already lost alost 30 lbs, which for me is wonderful as I need to keep losing. I wish I could tell all BIG gals to try to lose before you have to have major surgery. It has been very painful due to my size. 7/13/09 I am now hearing from you wonderful ladies out here and it is so nice to being able to have someone to share with! WELCOME ALL & THANK YOU!!!

Fantastic news Jo!! I'm happy for you! Now you can continue on with life! Keep in touch!
Love Jackie
Your not alone. I wish you all the best in your recovery. I hope everything is going well for you.
Thanks Jo! I will definitely mark the 29th on my calendar and send positive thoughts out to you! How's work going?
Jo,
I know exactly how you feel. I never had any scary thoughts after my surgery and radiation treatment. My son's wedding was 3 months after my last treatment and I was so busy getting prepared for that! Then after life returned to normal I started stressing about recurrance. I have managed to turn my thoughts around now and even though I am stressing about my upcoming checkup, I'm sure I will be like that every year but it will get a little better each time! Your cancer was very minor only a 1B you didnt even need any treatment so be positive and dont worry. Fran Drescher the actress who plays the Nanny on TV had the same grade as you and is now 9 years cancer free!!!
Hi Jo,
Just wondered how you are feeling now that you are back at work? You didn't take a lot of time off, did you? Hope all is well with you!
