So this is my first journal entry. I went to the rheumy yesterday...who I am glad to say I am very happy with. Every time I leave her office though, my head is spinning. Many times after I leave I wind up crying because I get so overwhelmed. I just started Cellcept 4 weeks ago and she increased me now to 2000 mg a day. I have been so tired all the time and am hoping that the cellcept is the answer for my Sjogrens. Mtx did nothing for me, it was like I never took anything when I was on it. I had a flare up every 3-4 weeks. So now I wait to see if this new increase and drug is the answer. On top of it all I have still had pain and awful nights sleep due to the fibro. I am on cymbalta, and now we are talking about adding Lyrica to the equation, so that I can eliminate, hopefully percocet, soma and arthrotec. all of which I take as needed for pain and spasms. A little nervous about that one. I also have been having chronic bladder infections since May. I had a sistoscopy and they said my bladder looks great, so why these constant infections that dont go away? I also got clearance and a thumbs up on my kidney functions. So the mystery continues. I feel like I keep taking all of these pills and I wake up feeling almost the same. I have had a couple of good days admittedly since starting the Cellcept. Oh and in addition, because of the immuno-suppressive drug that I am on now, my rheumy wants me on Bactrim which is an anti-biotic 3x a week as a preventive measure for infection. My pill box just keeps on growing and my head keeps on spinning............

Dear Debbie, As a home health care nurse my agency often suggested cranberry pills for frequent UTIs. They acidify the urine which makes the bladder an unfavorable environment for bacteria to grow in. Pam

Debbie, I'm sorry you had such a hard visit at the rheumy. I get overwhelmed easily when visiting any of my doctors. I've heard that cranberry can keep you from getting UTI's also and drinking plenty of water.
Also, how long have you been on the Cymbalta? I was on it and it made me SO tired all the time. I finally had to go off of it.
Don't you get SO tired of meds??!!!! :(
BIG hugs, Donna
