About Me
Secretary, pensioner, mother of one, sometimes just lonely! Christian, loves Choir Singing, art and cooking! I used to care for my child and my mother. Unfortunately Mom passed away last year. She was the reason that I landed up the oldage home. I was caring for her at home in Kemptonpark, for a few years. Then she fell, broke a hip, had a replacement, and became more than I could handle by myself. My brothers and I started looking for a place where she could be properley cared for. I have back problems and would'nt be able to physically handle her, pick her up, put her in a wheelchair, etc. So my brother, who is a Pastor in the A.F.M. Church in Aliwal North, found a place for her in the old age home. After she had her hip replacement operation, I came with her, to help her grow accustumed to other people nursing her. While still visiting, a nurse asked me, why I did'nt apply to live here as well. I did. I got it. And I am now settled here, and have a live of my own. My child now lives in the house in Kemptonpark, and can stand on it's own two feet. (S)he found a permanent job, and met God, stopped drinking and abusing drugs, etc.Long list, will take hours to complete. My prayers have been answered. Nowadays I am so proud of everything (s)he has achieved. I know it's a day to day survival thing for her(him). (S)he is also one of my group of friends on Daily Strength. She got me on it. I have a halfday post as secretary for my Pastor brother, and I'm free to do my own thing in the afternoons. I do different kinds of art, painting, drawing, building 3D pictures with plastic teaspoons, cloth painting, decoupage, want to try my hand at pewter work and glass painting. I sing in a church choir, and occasionally do a solo, if I'm asked.(Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.)I accompany myself playing the piano acordion. Enough for now. Will add on as time goes by.

Interests
Reading and writing prose and poetry. Art and crafts, of any shape and size, singing, playing music by hearing.(Can't read music), listening to good music, and I listen to my radio on RSG in S.A. almost all day and night. Inspite of all this, I feel useless and lonely now that I do'nt have any big responsibilities.I do have a bunch of good friends, and they keep me occupied most of the time, but over weekends, and especially long weekends, everybody goes their separate ways, off to their nearby children, or off to the farm, or town from where they first came here, or they're sick in hospital. Well whatever the reason, that is the time when this lonely, useless, puposelessness, longing for all and everybody that ever meant something to me, STRIKES!!!!! I am so looking forward to getting my own laptop in Decem. Then I can chat with all of you guys when the monster strikes. Don't get much time to do so at work. That's going to add to my life again. Thanks for sharing my excitement!!

I love you, my dearest friend, thank you so so much for reminding me that we are indeed God's children and HE loves us so much, I shouldn't be just give up and be despondent as low as I have been lately. I am going to keep up the prayers and to be harnessed with the shield (God's Words), and with your true friendship ...with all the heavenly help I should be able to beat the blue one more time.
