About Me
I am a 60-year-old, recently retired elementary teacher. My husband and I live in Georgia, but we enjoy visiting other places. I was diagnosed with RA two years ago while the disease was in it's early stages. I am learning to cope with flares and trying to stay in shape so we can keep on dancin'.

Hugbook
Hug
I actually live in Houston County with a Hawkinsville address. We are half way between Hawkinsville and Perry. We live in Haynesville. It amazes me on this site how many people from all over the world log in and share their stories and frustrations. Thanks again.
Hug
Here's a hug from another former teacher! I left in Nov. due to RA complications, so I'm learning about life after school! Hope retirement is treating you well.

Treatments
- Celebrex Working / Worked
- So far, so good. It helps quickly with the pain and I haven't had any negative side effects.
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- I suppose it is working. My blood work has been good. I have no signs of anemia; but I am SOO tired!
- Hydroxychloroquine Working / Worked
- It seems to be working. I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed to do, but after two years I have not had any bone damage.
- Methotrexate Working / Worked
- I think it is working. I'm still learning about how the meds are supposed to help. We had to divide the dose into three days (2 per day right now) to avoid the stomach upset.
- Prednisone Working / Worked
- I've only used one 6-day Rx to calm a flare. The flare was shorter-lived with the steroid. I didn't have any side effects, but I don't like relying on this medication.
- Tylenol Somewhat Helpful
- I used it between Celebrex doses once when I was having a flare.
