Well, life has a way of rolling on … Hon got the job and starts on Nov. 2. Bad news is that the commute is 1 1/2 hours one way. But, we are optimistic that our house will sell quickly and we’ll be able to move to our new condo very soon. We’ve lowered the price so much that we’re probably going to put a sign in the front that says, ‘FREE.’ Good grief, what a dreadful time to sell a house. Hopefully this time it will work. We talked to the realtor about renting but people don’t rent in this area. It’s a summer resort area and no one wants to be here in the winter if they don’t have to or want to!! So any prayers are greatly appreciated.
Company has agreed to pay for the move (hooray!) and that is such a tremendous load of my mind. The thought of packing up this huge house was causing me nightmares. Yesterday, my friend, Karen and I went through each room and made lists of what is going, what is staying, what is trash, and what is donated. Pretty extensive list of what’s going and I sure hope all the furniture will fit. Can’t go from 3,000 square feet to 1,625 square feet and expect all the furniture to fit!!! But I’m going to try. (Hubby is not too pleased w/me. Ooops!)
I may pack some of my personal stuff … groan … just because I don’t want movers into my jewelry, etc. Just returned from Lowes and bought bubble wrap to at least begin this process. Not sure when I’ll begin, but one of these days.
Today’s a crummy, cold and rainy day. Yuck! But I guess it’s better than snow.
Till later … ooxx

Darling, Marti... I successfully moved my art filled house up north to cow country using newspaper as wrapping stuff... Amazingly, everything really did make it with only one glass "genie lamp" (for lack of a better name--it's a large art glass perfume bottle...) grew a permanent crack, but still looks perfect!
I'm a small house kindof gal, so I don't have much advise on downsizing that much! Yeah, you've got a challenge on your hands... I moved from my little cabin up north (320 sq. ft.) to my little house here (672 sq. ft.--almost double the size), but I still can't find space for stuff. Plus, the contractor had a problem following blueprints (which makes no sense to me) so my closets are dismal compared to what was drawn... Oh well... I'm such a pakrat which does not help!
Love you darling, and hope all goes well... Sending POSITIVE ENERGY FOR A QUICK SALE ON YOUR HOUSE!!! Believe it, feel it, think it into happening!!! xoxoxo Cj

I used newspaper when we moved into our first house. I ended up having to wash everything and I don't want to do that again. I'm going to try and find sheets of unprinted news paper. I believe I can get it at a storage facility several towns over! I hate the thought of moving but am excited to be in our new home. And if possible, I'm never, ever moving again unless it's in the ground. :-)
Today the company is telling his current people that's he's being transferred. I don't think his sales people are going to be happy. Oh, well. Suck it up you're all grown ups!
Thanks for the positive energy for a quick sale. I'm sure it will happen sooner rather than later !!
