Kind of a busy day today.  I ran 3 miles for starters.  Oh after having a fight with my alarm clock.  I couldn't seem to turn it off.  I hate that thing.  I worked on my book for a bit and sent out 4 more query letters.  Well, one e-query.  I hate doing those.  Just doesn't feel the same.  Anywho.  Guess I'll just wait around for 4 more rejections.  Then send out 4 more.  Don't know why, but sending four at a pop seems right some how.  I know a lot of them want you to send exclusively to them, but what the heck.  If you ask me for a full manuscript then you got exclusivity baby.  Till then it's none of your damn business who I send a query to.  Sorry, just bugs me.  One of the agents I sent a letter to, I did something you are never supposed to do.  They say you are never supposed to be sarcastic or flip, but....  This guy talks about himself in third person on his website.  I mean, what the heck?  He also makes very clear that "while he does take on new clients" they are usually already published authors or sent to him by someone he knows.  He buddy, if I were a published author, I wouldn't need you!  NO, I didn't say that.  And if you are writing a non-fiction book, you better be a registered expert on the topic.  You are supposed to send him a query letter with a "brief bio" of yourself and your book.  Huh?  Yes that 's right.  You are supposed to include anything you have published and if you have attempted to publish this book before.  He doesn't want any slutty books that have already made all the rounds or even shudder, been attempted to be published before.  Okay, so here comes my sarcasm.  For my bio, I told him I was a first time author and I would describe in detail all my writing prowess but for my self esteem issues.  I also pointed out that most if not all first time authors are turned down by many agents and publishers before finding a good fit.  I know, I probably blew that one, but I am sure he wasn't going to take me on anyway.  I'm not a professional, I am a rank amateur.  That is the plain fact.  If I had any hope with this dickhead, it was to stand out.  Oh well.  So it goes...........
