  I am glad you found a supportive doctor. I had my first attack in my 40's and it was at least seven years till this episode. That's why I never had a colonoscopy, I was fine. I hope you beat this. Take care, Mary Anne

  i read your novella LOL on the diverticulitis group and just wanted to send you some flowers and wish you luck. I was diagnosed when I went to ER with a perforated Bowel and had to have emergency surgery.

  Hello ! I am totally with you, as I am going through my 3rd bout of the divriticulitis. I am on day 17 of cipro and have had 5 full days of flagyl so far. I have found for me that it works better for me to take my meds seporate and not together. I stagger the flagyl and cipro for example I will take my flagyl at around 8 am then my cipro around 10am then my next flagyl around 1 or 2pm then my next flagyl at around 6 or 7pm depending on when I eat dinner, and then my last dose of cipro at 8 or 9pm. Now this is just what I worked out for me due to how strong the antibiotics are and how they make you feel, (horrible !). I also take a stool softner 2 times a day as well and this helps me tremendously !! I do wish you the best ! and hope that you are feeling much better soon !
