Journal

Well this is my latest foray into trying to keep some sort of Journal of my day to day life.  I've had a bad week, really a bad month.  We had to put one of our pets to sleep a week ago Friday.  He was a lovely little rascal.  He was a rescued Lhasa Apso, with a wonderful underbite... :)  I've had him since 1996/97 and he was full grown when he came to us.  He really was there for my kids while I was going though my divorce and my MS symptoms were beginning to show.  He developed oral cancer sometime over the last year and it just finally became time to let him go.  Real hard on all my family but I tend to react very badly to stress and strong emotions (whether I show them or keep them to myself).  So I have been sleeping alot this last week.  Much more than normal and also had some sort of relapse symptoms.  I'm never very sure about those because, well I don't know why right now, I will try to address that later.  Basically I have had more cognitive issues, memory, alertness, etc. and other symptoms like an increase in problems with my balance and speech and what I call a "dimness" to my vision.  Like everything is in a darkly lit room. 

We do seem to be moving on.  We decided to have Snowball cremated and have yet to go pick him up.  But the folks that we used were very wonderful with us up to now.  We miss him alot.  He's been in our life for 12 or 13 years. 

This is also the 3rd of our elderly four legged kids that we have had to put to sleep in the last year or so. We still have one left.  Two of the dogs I took in when my mother passed away in 2003.  We have one left now.  A lovely and somewhat neurotic Whippet.  She is about 17 now to the best of my memory and still seems in fairly good health.  We are finally able to spoil her like she should be.

Otherwise we have just been hanging out and watching movies today.  That's all I have for now at least until I get the hang of this.
