    • About Me

Recently found out I am going to be a Grandma. Currently on disability from work and waiting for SSDI to go through. I am bored stiff. I should say stiffer, I was already stiff. :)

I just started Cymbalta and read that one of the rare side affects is problems starting a urine stream. So, it could be the meds. The problem with MS, is that we don't know whether our problems are MS related, other health problem or med. side affect. It is frustrating and I try to keep my sense of humor!!!!!

    • Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
      Type: Relapsing-remitting MS

Have MS and need someone to talk to on occaision.

      Treatments

      Avonex Working / Worked
Currently using, seems to be helping but bad side effects for me. Doc suggested Tysabri but I am terrified of the possibility of PML. I have a history of getting what others don't get or having atypical symptoms of what I do get.
      Copaxone Somewhat Helpful
I still have lumps and dimples in my legs from the constant injections, I stopped taking it when I fired my Neuro at the time.
      Neurontin Not Working
Did not work, too many side effects for me
      Provigil Somewhat Helpful
It did not give me the energy I needed to actually do anything so I was just as well off without it
    • Close Narcolepsy

Recent diagnosis of Narcolepsy to go along with my MS. Mainly information and support.

      Treatments

      Provigil Somewhat Helpful
Did not help enough to give me energy to do basic stuff around the house.
      Ritalin Not Working
      No longer taking.
      Xyrem Working / Worked
Seems to be helping me stay more alert during the day.
    • Open Chronic Pain

      Support and information.

      Treatments

      Cymbalta Not Working
      Cannot tolerate
      Flexeril Not Working
      Can't tolerate
      Heat Somewhat Helpful
Had to stop because I actually damaged the skin on my back to the point it was discolored
      Hydrocodone Somewhat Helpful
Stopped due to fear of acetamenophen/liver damage
      Methadone Somewhat Helpful
Don't care for the side effects, profuse sweating mainly and of course can't poop
      Neurontin Not Working
      Couldn't tolerate side effects
      Oxycodone Working / Worked
Works best but Doc does not give me enough, I am currently using it for breakthrough pain
      TENS Not Working
    • Open Pet Bereavement

We recently had to euthanize our lovely, wonderful and loyal friend Snowball, a Lhasa due to oral cancer. This is the third elderly and ill pet we have had to euthanize in the past two years.
