Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
was diagnosed w/ PCOS in 1995. Went thru 10 loooooong years of ttc w/ metformin/clomid/injectables/ovarian driling/Vitex..finally July 20th 2004 my son was born... Today I still struggle horribly with weight- I need to lose about 80 lbs, hair- I am a virtual stubble queen, and haven't had a cycle in almost a year.
Treatments
- Laparoscopic Surgery Working / Worked
- I had my ovaries drilled in 2003- getting rid of a ton of cysts temporarily. This gave me cycles- I actually OVULATED for a half a year- then wound up pregnant! Was WELL worth it.
- Metformin Somewhat Helpful
- I started it in 1005- while it was still 'experimental'.. it gave me some energy, cycles and some weight loss-but alone it wasn't enough. I had been on and off of it for the past 15 years- recently tried it at the beginning of the year and it did literally NOTHING for me- so I got back off.
- Vitex Working / Worked
- This worked WELL for me to help me conceive my son. It regulated me for awhile. Though recently I tried it for cycles again and didn't do a thing..not sure what is up- but I HIGHLY recommend this one.
