Married 2 grown stepchildren, 1 10 year old daughter. I was a stay at home mum, until we lost our transport business due to drought. Passions are trying to help other patients with or who have Graves and also help myself by talking to other patients. We live in a small town. We lost our home, so now we are renting a farm house. I work full time as a secretary/jack of all trades for a transport business. I used to love reading. I love scrapbooking, being involved with my daughter's activities.

I contracted Graves disease while I was pregnant. It was not diagnosed until my baby was 13 months old, at that stage I was severe, 'a text book case'. Specialist started treatment, after 5 days on the pills, I suffered a "thyroid toxic storm". Was put in hospital for a week, swallowing a fistful of pills 3 times a day. My specialist told me that it was 1st time he had seen a "Toxic Storm" after treatment started. I was a test case in Queensland at that time. Graves attacked my eyes.
