This guy makes me wait 45 minutes and tells me that he is refusing to treat my knee. He says the pain is neuropathic and as for the wound that won't heal? I need to see a plastic surgeon for that! Unbelievable! Then he x-rays my clavicle and confirms that there is arthritis there. He says it has nothing to do with my rheumatoid arthritis. He gives me a shot of cortisone and says that if it doesn't work that means he either misdiagnosed it, or he didn't shoot me in the right spot. If it is what he says and he did shoot the right spot, the cortisone will keep me pain free there for 3 months or more. It might even cure me. I had to force him to put the surgical report on my knee into my chart. He refused to look at 3 abstracts that I printed out that relate directly to my case and may point to other outcomes if proper treatment isn't initiated. He said it was an infection and that he'd even give me a prescription for keflex for my knee. I told him that I'd gone that route. The knee doesn't have staph or any of that stuff. I hate doctors that don't listen! I hate doctors that make you wait for more than 10 or 15 minutes. (At least he apologized. The surgeon who destroyed my left knee never apologized and he was always extremely late.) I am seeing a dermatologist about my knee next. It really has been a hellish merry go round from one medical specialist to another. And always the pain is there. Now that the novicaine is wearing off the injection site, my shoulder is crying with pain. Ortho, "You'll be thanking me tomorrow!" This is the completely same route I went w/ an ortho over my knee. Shots, then physical therapy, then shots, then surgery. I might as well take a hacksaw to my right shoulder and left knee. Robin can hold me down while I do it to myself. Or pay a hobo off the street to do it.
