    What a cute kitty! What's her/his name? Love cats, but am allergic to them. So I adopted Rascal pooch instead:)

    Hi Smile,
    Each night when I retire for bed I make a plan of what I want to accomplish the next day. I do not worry about things over which I have no control. It is a list of only those things I can accomplish. Reachable goals, this keeps my mind focused on tomorrow and I spend little time on the past.
    The past is the past and you cannot change it, but without the past you would not be who you are now! Eric

    Thanks for the Letting Go discussion post. There is some great advice. When asked if I would change the past I say ABSOLUTELY! I do not regret what I have done but I would not have taken the path I did if I knew then what I know now. I now our past makes us who we are and there is nothing we can do to change it. I think it helps me when I get too cocky about how I am doing to remember where I came from. The trick for me is not to wallow in that past or concentrate on thinking it was ever good. It is hard. I hope you can work through this. Never forget that you are worth all the effort!
    Shawn

    Hi, I'm Karen, and I'm an alcoholic. Welcome here. I can sure relate to your journal. Been there, done it, felt the guilt, etc. I'm a member of AA now and am sober again as of Jan. 25 of this year, and doing well to get past all that you talk about. You're not alone, because many of us here have found the solution, not just a band aid. Hang in there! It can get better real fast! Glad you're here. Make yourself at home. (o;
