About Me
I'm disabled because of severe osteoarthritis. Used to ski, hike, ride mt. bike, kayak in the Seattle area, where I spent over half my adult years. Regardless of any physical or emotional state I may be in, I always see the glass as half full. Can't help it! About my VERY short hair: for YEARS I colored my gray hair. Then I relocated from Seattle to FL. My hair was dry and brittle. I was miserable in the heat. Took drastic measures, cut my long hair off myself. Then I shaved my head to see what would come in. It made a HUGE difference in dealing with heat and humidity. Now I keep it short and trim when I feel like it.

Interests
Recreating my music collection by downloading my 450+ all-time favorite music tracks to my mp3 player, writing, reading, watching classic movies online, photography (My art photography sold well in Seattle, where I did mostly marine photography), and making my dog and cat as happy as they make me.

Close Anemia
I'm tired of being tired, with yet no diagnosis.
Close Arthritis
Severe osteoarthritis is proving to be the bane of my existence in my mid-sixties. I have two good joints - my ankles. I'm thankful that they seem to be immune from arthritis. I'm in a wheelchair because of arthritis. My spinal cord is degenerating and bone spurs are pressing on my spinal cord. Had to give up ibuprofen - bad for me. But there's one brand of glucosamine that helps more than pain pills.
Treatments
- Glucosamine/Chondroitin Working / Worked
- CosaminDs actually REPLACED some of the cartilage in my right hip. It showed up on x-rays. Amazing!
- Ibuprofen Not Working
- I thought it was helping. But when I quit taking it, I noticed NO difference in pain levels.
Open Degenerative Disc Disease
Greetings to all fellow sufferers. I'm 65 and had no idea I had DDD until a few years ago. Degeneration is in cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Pain is not too bad most of the time, but there are days when I truly need a narcotic. It hurts to stand for more than a few minutes (3 - 4), so I'm in a wheelchair. I exercise by walking my dog 4 times a day in the w. chair. My worst time for pain is in the mornings. Also have trouble sleeping. I just need this group's support now!
