Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I have chronic fatigue syndrome..Adderal is far the best medication I've had for it.Since it acts on the central nervous system,it really helps the fatigue ,depression and mental focus and clarity. However,many dr's are afriad to prescribe it;even though the top notch CFs And FM drs do.

Close Fibromyalgia

I have Fibromyalgia.I was diagnosed in Spring of 2002;although my Dr told mr going by what I've told him and how long I'd already had several symptoms,I'd probably had it at least a decade or so before getting diagnosed.I experience the usual muscle pain & tender spots,fatigue,IBD,slepp probs,mild cardiac symptoms,migrains,misc GI probs.,fibro fog & ect. Had to stop working in spring of 2002 and go onto disability.

Treatments

Adderall Working / Worked

I can't say enough good things about this drug. I'm having to fight to stay on it,as my old Dr left & this new dr is afraid to keep me on it. It 's due to the fact that it's labeled for use in kids & young adults with ADD & ADHD..Even though top notch FM &CFS drs do prescribe it to their patients with FM &CFS. It really helps !

Cyclobenzaprine Working / Worked

I took it for about 3 yrs and then stoped , because it seemed to loose it's effects..I now take Zanaflex.It works for low to moderate muscle pain.

Cymbalta Not Working

I tryed Cymbalta a few yrs back.it didn't help with pain or depression from not working and being around people & ect.

Effexor Not Working

I also tyryed Effexor, same thing with most ssri's,they just don't work on me..I've read where alot od FM &CFS patients that ssri's don't seem to help. And ,I think I might be what is known as a "treatment resistant" type patient.One well known FM Dr. says in the long run & for long term use,he now thinks that ssri's are damaging to the brains of FM &CFS patients. And since alot of us are "chemically sensitive",we always have to be on the alert of everything we take and everything around us.

Guaifenesin Not Working

This too didn't work..I'm a difficult patient to treat..but, as are alot of FM &CFS patients.Central nervous system has alot to do with it all too.AS does our lymphatic system,immune system and autonomic nervous and lymbic systems.

Heat Somewhat Helpful

I don't even stay overnight at my mum's house without it.I'm always using it for lower back pain,ibd pain and menstral cramps.

Lyrica Not Working

I did not like the side effects of Lyrica..One was very increased hunger along with fast weight gain..Like a person who has to stuggle to exercise needs that .

Morphine Working / Worked

I had to use this when I'd goteten two injections in my si joints in lower back end of June 2008 to end of July 2008.All I wanted to do was sleep alot & lie in bed..What a trip! It made my bowels stop and dr had to give me something to ease that up.The injections caused me to have unrelenting left knee pain,so much so that I couldn't sleep and cryed before mt pain dr tryed to undo the harm my Rheumatologist did when giving me the shots.

Neurontin Too Soon to Tell

I did try it,but didn't have patience with it.So, I'm not sure at this point if it would have eventually helped. Brain scans have proven that FM patients brains showed increased activity and pain ,when compared to so called normal or fairly healthy people, when putting pressure on certain spots and parts of the body. two places in the brain were mentioned.they lit up more than a normal persons. Our brains have an even harder time of slowing those signals down or turning them off.

TENS Somewhat Helpful

I've only had this in physical therapy when I was still working in either 2002 or begining 2003..it worked a tad bit when it was on me..but,as soon as it was removed,the lower back 7 leg pain came right back.

Ultram Somewhat Helpful

This is the first pain drug i was prescribed ,when OTC drugs no longer worked.I took it for about 5 months.Then went onto take percocet.Oh, and this is also one of the only drugs cats can take for pain..they can not take tylenol or aspirin..those could kill cats..Just incase anyone has & loves their cats.

Zanaflex Working / Worked

Works for low to moderate muscle pain & spams.It also depends on how many mg's you're on.
