So my goal today was to think positively and to challenge any negative thoughts. I am happy to say that I did better than I expected. There were a few times that I started to come down on myself, but I was able to confront my thoughts and realize that there was many positives things that I did today.
I actually worked today and got a lot accomplished at my job. At lunch my boyfriend and I hit up a subway and I was feeling guilty that they put a lot of cheese on my sub. But I decided that getting no sauces (like mayo) and not getting a pop or cookies was something to be positive about. We followed up work by going to the driving range so I could practice my golf swing. I have only been playing for a few weeks now. I was getting frustrated at first because I wasn't hitting the ball very well, or sometimes at all. Normally, I would get so frustrated with myself that I would get angry and give up. But I remembered my goal to think positively and so I confronted my thoughts and relaxed. To my surprise I started to hit much better after a few more tries.
Best of all, my success today has left me feeling energetic. So much in fact that I came home and did the dishes, and a full vaccum job that included every room and the couches. Normally I come home and feel down and tired and just sit around.
So today was a great day. A successful day for me! My goal tomorrow is to continue to challenge my negative thoughts and be happier for my successes.

I should have read all your entries before commenting, because I see that the suggestion I just made on your first entry was something you figured out completely on your own, which is really wonderful! I was 38 yrs old and needed a therapist to point out how negative my thoughts were before I even realized it! You are doing so well, am glad for you that you're learning something new that can be fun and a good way to be active. I hear you on missing the ball...have only golfed a few times over the years, that swing feels really awkward as a beginner. Ppl who have done it for years make it look so smooth, effortless:)
