I have just recently been diagnosed with Sjogren's. I am one of the lucky ones who was diagnosed quickly (4 months). The Rheumy I was referred to is very caring and sympathetic. I am a mother of 3 boys, with only one still living at home full-time.

Interests
I have 2 great danes that are both registered therapy dogs. Sierra is the one in my profile picture. I visit the local lbrary with her (the picture is from her birthday party). Coah is my 4 year old male. He is more of a handful but loves visiting the residents at the nursing home. I have had to stop visiting with him due to my joint pain but plan on starting back up this week.

I called the Sjogrens Foundation a few months ago and he told me that there is a woman in my area who runs a support group or was trying to start one. I called her and left a message asking about her group and if she needed help but she didn't call me back. I got a lot sicker and never followed up. I think the most frustrating thing about the disease is the lack of treatments. I am on plaquenil but it doesn't seem to help very much. I am going to the Cleveland Clinic in 2 weeks to see a rheumatologist there so I will see what she says. I can't imagine feeling like this the rest of my life. How long have you had it?

Close Sjogren's Syndrome
I was just diagnosed 2 months ago with Sjogren's syndrome. From what I have read I am one of the fortunate ones and it only took 5 months to be diagnosed.
Treatments
- Pets Working / Worked
- My two registered therapy dogs are a blessing every day. The one even seems to know a day ahead of when I will have a flare up.
- Prednisone Not Working
- allergic reaction
- Plaquenil Working / Worked
- joint pain is improving
