  Wow, Piper definitly got alot taller!! Halloween went good for me, i like run or anything. I was just really tired afterwerds, My friends are really supportive, and helpul, sometimes they like get more scared then me. But some kids can get really like stupid!!! My one friend seriously has no idea what she is talking about, I just got braces like 2 weeks ago, and she was telling me that braces are gonna hert more than my surgery, becasue i will be awake for braces and i was sleeping for the surgery. And like last Friday(thats when my class has gym)since i abviously cant participate in gym i just sit there and watch them(i feel so stupid becasue i dont know what to do) And my friend says leah, stop using your surgery as an excuse!!!you can do gym!!!1 And when she says stuff like that, it makes me so mad, cuz she has no idea what shes saying.

  I know this is a little late, but my daughter had the titanium rods and a 9 hour operation, The first 3-4 days were traumatic but there was lots of pain relief whenever she needed it. She was up and walking about, stiffly for a few days, but within a week of being home she was back to her normal life. She did get tired and had to rest a bit, but was able to shower, wash her hair, do all of those teenage girl things on her own with no problem. Now, 3 months, on you would never know she had even had it done!

  Don't worry your daughter will do fine. My mom and I were worried about my surgery but now that I'm on the road to recovery my mom and I are glad I had this done because now I'm feeling more confident because I'm not worried if people can see that I have scoliosis. If your daughter needs anyone to talk to I'm here and love to help and give advice....Good Luck to your daughter.

  I know it is scary. It is your kid... If my mom was still around I would have her tell you how she felt... Hang in there and talk to the Doctor and ask many questions. Also, speak to your kids school nurse.... Denise
