I am 47 and have just been told I have narcolepsy. I feel like I need some friends to talk to about this. I have two grown childern and two wonderful grandsons. I live with a great guy that I have been with for the last 13 years.

I enjoy summer. In Canada we have long winters. This year I have missed all of the winter plus Spring due to cataplexsy. I am hoping to get advise on getting the cataplexsy to stop.

Close Narcolepsy
I have been on Xyrem for four weeks and Dexedrine for 2 weeks and still have Cataplexy. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how long it takes before Cataplexsy stops. My Xyrem dose is 3.0 mls 2 times per night and the dexedrine is 5 mls 3 times a day.I am so despert for the Cataplexsy to stop just so I can get on with my life again. I have not been out of the house for 4 months and need advise.
Treatments
- Adderall Working / Worked
- Stopped working, did work with Impermine for about 3 months.
- Dexedrine Working / Worked
- Can not really say it is work, but i am not as tired as I was on Adderall.Still have Cataplexsy
- Xyrem Working / Worked
- I am sleeping better and am not falling a sleep in the day. However Cataplexsy at least once of twice a day and still fall to the ground.
- Crestor Working / Worked
- To soon to know just start 2 weeks ago.
