Results of the thursday day at the vet. Pooh's hematocrit when from 13.1 to 25 normal is 28. His hemoglobin went from 3.9 to 7.2 normal being 8.6. He just about doubled everything. Vet was amazed said pooh certainly used one of his 9 lives this time. It was a miracle that they found the parasite in time. So we have to continue with the antibiotic for the parasite and we are weaning him of the prednisone. The vet wants to see him again for more blood work up in three weeks from now. Whew!!!!
talk about being on a rollercoaster ride with my emotions. One minute your baby is going to die and the next minute he is on the road to recovery.

So you can fit into your old jeans now. Well smart one how did you do it? Pooh is doing better. He jumped on top of the refrigerator yesterday to assume his lion king rule over the house. He hasn't been able to do that in weeks. Vet said yesterday that she could finally see a bit of improvement in him and some pink is returning to his skin area in his mouth. Took some blood for testing I will get the results saturday. We are weaning him off the prednisone now but he is still taking the antibiotics for the parasite. Things are looking very good for Pooh now. Me , well that's another story. My blood test showed that my cholesterol is still down and everything there looks good all in all ..BUT I am borderline High blood pressure and border line Sugar. Probably some of it is due to stress over Pooh but I need to get it down and loose a lot of weight (about 80 lbs). My parents both had type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure in their senior years and I'm knocking on the dooor right now so I better get myself into my old jeans. Any suggestions?

Saturday morning and we got a call from the vet to bring the cat down. The second blood test found a parasite in his blood. They will keep him for a couple of days and give him treatment. He has gone from a slim to no chance... to a fair to 75%. I guess this parasite doesn't always show in the blood sample and sometimes they have to do 4 or 5 before they get an infected cell in their sample. So we have a fighting chance. Keep those positive thoughts and prayers coming. How is nutmeg doing. I've been praying for nutmeg as well as for you my friend. I see your father is doing the rollercoaster bit but is improving so that's great. I wish you well and send you hugs. You need a lot of prayers and hugs yourself with dealing with nutmeg, your father, your wife, and you job. BIG WARM HUGS Judy

Just wanted to thank you for the information on IMHA. Went to the vets today and had some blood taken from pooh. She said he looks about the same no improvement but we will wait another couple of days for the results. In the meantime we will keep him on prednisone till the decision has to be made. I'm so sorry to hear about nutmeg. I'll include him in my prayers. Definately try a little yogurt with some added acidelpohis to it. My cat piggy had IBS and they only gave him a month to live. I feed him that everyday because a holistic vet on the internet told me about it. I gave him collostrum also and it added about a year on to his life. I'm sure this will help your little kitties.

That is amazingly great. It was in the 40's here this am, so heat wise things are much better. Fall is always my favorite season. Just fed both mamadeer and this year's orphan, little one should start to lose his spots soon. Mama is shedding like a big dog to get back to that browny gray color. So short a time they are that pretty red. Pretty soon you'll be back streaking the wide world to the cheers of ladies all over. Happy dance for you!
