Close Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar, Borderline Personality Disorder, Breast Cancer Survivor; need to put my life back together!
Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- I take this as needed, it definitely takes the edge off my temper. By itself, it's not enough, but it calms me without impairing my reflexes or judgment.
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Too Soon to Tell
- I have trouble sticking to it, but most of what I've used has been great.
- Geodon Not Working
- This stuff knocked me out! I couldn't even dial the phone or speak an un-slurred sentence. Scary.
- Lamictal Somewhat Helpful
- I was on a higher dose, but I got cancer and had to start over with lower dose because of interaction with cancer meds. I'm not sure the lower dose is working at all...
- Wellbutrin Not Working
- Took this years ago for depression, before my BP diagnosis. Didn't really do much.
- Lexapro Not Working
- It seemed to help with PMDDPMS when I was on the higher dose of Lamictal. By itself or with low dose of Lamictal the Lexapro made everything foggy and dull.
- Tai Chi Working / Worked
- I love this! I wish I could do it with my instructor daily instead of weekly. Very helpful calming energizing. I couldnt do yoga because of a back injury but Tai Chi is so balanced that it actually reduces pain.
- Progesterone Not Working
- This was to address the PMDD that seemed to be a partial component of my problems. I had a form of breast cancer which is fed by estrogen and progesterone so it was not safe to take Prometrium any longer. The best control I have ever had of my BP was with Lamictal450Lexapro10Prometrium. Cancer really screwed me up!
