Thanks for the hug...nope, haven't tried that diet so I'm going to research it and try to give it a shot..can't hurt right?? Its just so hard, especially with 3 kids under the age of 4..sometimes I just need to curl up in bed and try to sleep...Good luck to you as well.

Thanks for the hug and right back atcha. I'm impressed that your doing this as a single mom - you go girl! I have trouble not eating my son's food too, but it's WAY better for me if I don't. I really miss my coffee though. I"ve had 2 decafs with soy in a month - that seems to be a bit better. No soda and sweets though. So sad, I have a MONSTER sweet tooth. This is the strangest disease. Let me know if you want any recipes or anything - I really love to cook and have a number of easy dishes to throw together. Best!

Close Crohn's Disease & Ulcerative Colitis
I was diagnosed with crohn's disease in September 2001. Since then I have undergone 3 surgeries and multiple hospitol visits. I am at the point of seeking out as much information as possible. All the medicines havn't worked up till this point so I'm trying all my efforts to heal myself with diet.
Treatments
- Asacol Not Working
- Went on this after trying Pentasa. Have been on it ever since.
- Dietary Modification Too Soon to Tell
- Have always avoided some foods that bother me. Been trying gluten free for a few months without much sucess. Started the Specific Carbohydrate Diet 3 days ago.
- Entocort Somewhat Helpful
- Been on it in the past.
- Flagyl Somewhat Helpful
- Was on it to treat c-diff. Have been on it a couple other times.
- Prednisone Not Working
- On and off it for years.
- Purinethol Not Working
- Been on it for a few years. No sign of it helping.
- Remicade Working / Worked
- Was on it for a year and it helped so we tried going off it. A year later went back on it and had a terrible reaction that I was hospitolized for a week for. Severe joint paint that spread through my body.
- Surgery Too Soon to Tell
- I've had 3 surgeries since diagnosed. My last one was 3 weeks ago(June 3, 2009).
Close Eating Disorders
I originally joined DS to find support for my Crohn's disease. I just recently had my 3rd surgery (having part of my intestine removed). On top of the Crohn's I have binged and obsessed over food for as long as I can remember. I fear that my binge eating damages my intestines more than they already are.
Treatments
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- Helped my anxiety in the past. Don't remember it helping much with the bingeing.
- Paxil Not Working
- The first time I ever went and talked to someone about my binge eating I was put on this. I was pretty young and did not stay on it very long.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- Have done some counceling in the past. It helped a little bit.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Can be helpful but I feel like they don't necessarly understand.
