About Me
Single mom to two great kids, working full time, dealing with Graves' Disease. DIagnosed hyperthyroid in April 2008 while pregnant, took PTU during pregnancy. Went off PTU after the birth in November 2008 and went VERY hypER over the next several months. Ultrasound found my throid to be double in size with holes. No nodules. Uptake and scan 5/26/09, GD diagnosis 5/28/09, RAI 6/8/09.

Close Graves' Disease
Found out I was hyperthyroid in April 2008. learned it was Graves' disease in May 2009, had RAI 6/8/09
Treatments
- PTU Working / Worked
- Was pregnant, and PTU helped with the symptoms. Stopped after the birth, and rapidly went down hill with symptoms and labs.
Close ADHD / ADD
9 yo son diagnosed with ADHD May 2007. Single mom trying to deal with it alone.
Treatments
- Clonidine Not Working
- Concerta Somewhat Helpful
- Seemed to work initially, but it seemed to wear off over time (not liek during the day but over months) he's very small so we didn't want too high of a dose.
- Vyvanse Working / Worked
- Seems to be working. Teachers can tell, but at current dose he is still unable to focus throughout the day, complete tasks, not be disruptive.
Open Hyperthyroidism
Diagnosed Hyperthyroid in April 2008, whil pregnant took PTU. Went off PTU after the birth in November 2008, labs went downhill whilr symptoms got worse, had scan and uptake in May 2009, had RAI 06/08/09
Treatments
- PTU Working / Worked
- seemed to work while pregnant.
- Radioactive Iodine Too Soon to Tell
