Yesterday I started an exercise program from a book I bought. I set up my pull up bar in my door frame and went through the beginner's program for day 1. It's a 5 day workout program with a 6th optional day (that I don't plan on doing, lol). Today is core and cardio.
I hate working out, but I'm sure after a while I'll start to like it. Once I start feeling the effects and seeing my body take back on some semblance of shape, start noticing I'm not gasping after only a few minutes, I'll get excited. Plus it's mainly a matter of getting into the habit. From what I hear and from my experience in my teens, it's all about getting through the first 4-5 weeks, then it becomes habit and doesn't seem as much like you're forcing yourself to do something you don't like.
I will do the beginner routine for a month or two and then switch to the main program. It's a 50 day workout that keeps you doing different things so you don't get bored and don't plateau in your progress from doing the same thing all the time.
I can't wait to feel good and look good (thus feeling even better, lol). I used to be so active but then my depressive spells started taking over and I'd just sit in my room for months and then just sit somewhere else drinking and watching movies and such when I felt better and would go out.
I've got to be looking good by September. I want to be a sexy beast when I head to Hawaii for my sister's wedding. I ought to start spending more time out in the sun too, so I don't look like a white whale that's washed up on the shore, lol.
Just got to keep at it. It's so easy for me to convince myself not to exercise.

Go get 'em tiger! You can do it! And definitely get some sun (legs included of course) before you get to Hawaii. Good luck!
