Hello! Mood
Sunday, October 18, 2009 | A General Update story
HI, it has been a long time since I have been here! I used to get on here a lot when I lived in Oregon, but a year ago I moved to San Antonio, Texas, as my daughter/son-n-law and thier 7 yr old son live here and I wanted to be closer to them, as I used to live in Grants Pass Oregon, but even though I am glad for the time I have spent here, I am planning on moving back to Oregon at the end of the year, I had no idea how HOT it gets here, where in the summer if you want to sleep you have to run the A.C. all night and sometimes even have to run it in what they call here winter, which even though it rains the rain is warm! Nothing like good old Oregon! I miss Oregon very much! Because of the brain injury I suffered several years ago I deal with long and short term memory loss, and because this place is sooooo HUGE, I get lost a lot, there are freeways that seem to never end, I remember once I was trying to go somewhere and I got lost for a few hours! I kissed the ground when I found my apt. late at night, now I just don't go anywhere but Walmart and church, and sometimes to visit my daughter, other than that I stay home, speaking of church I found an awesom church here, it is held in a huge auditorim and they have a band that plays rock music, that consists of 3 guitars, drums and a couple of singers, it is like going to a concert everytime I go to church! They do play Christain music but sometimes they play reg. rock music, and the teaching is good too! It would be great to hear from someone on here? Rich

Hi anyone and everyone! I have not been on here for soooooo long, I moved from Grants Pass Or. to San Antonio Texas! My daughter and husband and son live here and after living in Oregon for the past 20 yrs or so I decided to move here so I can see them instead of e-mail, since I am alone and retired and divorced for about 3 yrs now nothing was stopping me. What a move! about 2000 miles from where I used to live, now I have been getting my car registered, new license, ect. never thought I would be living in Texas, as the town I came from Grants Pass had two main one way streets, which in itself was sometimes confusing for me due to the brain injury many years ago, I have already gotten lost here as it is sooooooooooooooo big compared to Grants Pass, it will take me a while but I will get it down, just have to get my license first! So how is everyone doing? Anybody live out here? Be great to actually meet new friends? My daughter took me out to a place called "Rudys" a place where they give you white butcher paper and serve your beef on it and you eat right off the paper! It was different than any place I had ever eaten at! Never thought I would be starting out all over again, moving and having to buy new furniture, ect. I am trying to get used to the different weather here, hot in the day cold at night. Be great to hear from someone? Rich

Wednesday, March 19, 2008 | A Rambling story
It has been a while since I have been here, I am still here, I am thankful to go through two brain surgeries to remove my tumor, but I lost so much due to all of it, I worked my way up from the bottom, had a good income, beautiful house on the ocean, beautiful wife two kids, great job for 10 yrs, but due to the harrasment on the job due to my memory loss and being made fun of my Dr. pulled me out and we lost our home, sometime after that my wife and I divorced after 30 yrs of marriage, it all came down to the money, I still made fairly good money on disability but it was too much for her to lose the great lifestyle I had provided for so many years, we have been divorced for two years now, funny how life can throw you some pretty tough curves, not the way I would have seen my life turning out. I am very blessed to be able to retire at 52, now 53, so I am thankful for that, just not the way I would have done it. Now I find myself wondering if love, real love can happen twice in a lifetime, I would have never divorced my wife, but she started treating me abusively to, in the sense of making fun of me, due to memory, funny how people can be after a life alterating event in your life, some can hang in there through sickness and in health, some are in it for what they can get out of it and when the tough gets going, well you know... it's late, hope all are doing well, Rich
