      Hey Colleen,

No one is promised tomorrow. I sometimes feel I have done my job here. I have worked since I was 12 and quit 2 years ago. I successfully raised my son and he is doing well in college with a goal and a direction. I have been a good wife to my husband for 22 years and raised a dog for many of them. So what is left? I live and have lived in a place that I despise for 18 years and before that took crap from the outlaws for 4. My mother abandoned me when she learned of my diagnosis as did my sister and the rest of my extended family. haven't heard from anyone for 8 years. My friends have all moved out of this area and I hear from those who left infrequently at best. so what is left? I can't find a job as who wants to hire a middle aged woman with MS whose last 15 years were spent as a telecommuting medical transcriptionist. Just trying to find my way, I guess. Rob hates his job (he never liked a job he worked at) but now he can't quit because we NEED the benefits for me. Before he could always leave (which he did), find something else and stay for a few years and then move on. I was always able to pick up the benefits and I was also a source of support for his habits (we have owned 3 boats in our lifetime - his passion I guess). So I guess I need a goal and at the moment I don't have one save for getting rid of this illness and that does not seem likely. Hate to be a downer but I am a realist. We tried a new dog a few weeks ago but she didn't take to Rob at all and she was too much for me all alone so we took her back. She just was not the right dog for us and we were not the right people for her. So now Rob doesn't want to try another one and that's fine since my old dog was SO great it would be hard to replace her. I spend most of my days cleaning, sick, on teh computer, laundry, ironing, reading, TV. I guess I am no good at this relaxing thing. I never had time to get used to it and I never had time to socialize when I moved here as I was working when my son was in school and the other women in the subdivisons were coffeeing etc.

Honestly I am not complaining, but maybe this is all there is. I stopped the probiotics as they were giving me worse stomach pain than usual. We'll see if that helps. Janice is doing well with the stem cell therapy (I think) although she writes of her travels in Costa Rica but not much about the therapy itself and how it is going. Hopefully that will be an option.

You are younger and with a young son so you have much to live for and to hope for. You stay positive. when I was your age and Cabot was young I trudged ahead and he was my force but now...

Stay positive and focus - one of us has to. Keep it real in Fredericksburg.
      Judy

      Hi Colleen,

Just wanted to welcome another Virginian. I am from Ashland, not too far from you! Unfortunately I have been on this site for too many years - diagnosed 2001. On Copaxone (eh). Hope the docs in Fredericksburg are better than Richmond! Enjoy the site and hope you find what you are looking for.
