    • About Me

I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2006; Crohn's Disease in 2008; and my Rheumatologist now thinks that I may have Lupus and possibly Fibromyalgia. I am trying to learn how to accept and manage my illnesses. I just need some support and encouragement to get there.

Welcome to DS...I applaud your goal to accept your illnesses...I, too, live with fibro and also chronic fatigue....getting back to happy is my main goal...depression grabs my ankles and wraps them around my mind!! LOL...I love to laugh, garden, and kiss my hubby!!! Mary

    • Close Fibromyalgia

I may have Fibromyalgia and my doctor thinks that I may have Lupus.

      Treatments

      Heat Working / Worked
I use heating pads when I go to bed, and when I wake up my pain is not as bad, for at least an hour or so. I have a heating pad that you put in the microwave and you can use it anywhere. That helps me during the day.
      Lyrica Too Soon to Tell
My pain is still debilitating, but it is not as severe as before. I have only been on it for about a week, my doc says that I need to be patient and give it time to start working.
      Hydrocodone Working / Worked
As much as I dont want to be on a controlled substance it seems to be the only thing that dulls the pain enough for me to function during the day.
      Fioricet Working / Worked
I use this for the pain in my head neck and behind my eyes. This helps me function daily.
    • Close Lupus

My Rheumatologist thinks that I might have Lupus. I am awaiting bloodwork results to find out.

      Treatments

      Azathioprine Not Working
I took this medication because I also have Crohn's disease. I was allergic to it and developed hives.
      Prednisone Not Working
This made my pain much worse, to the point where painkillers were not even helping it.
