Treatments
- Ativan Working / Worked
- take 2mg 3x day in adjunct with Lexapro which works great for my social anxiety. Also, it can be taken sublingually for more rapid delivery in the event of a panic attack.
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- This is my "wonder drug." After countless meds for depression/anxiety, Lexapro has helped with both more than anything else I've taken. I have to take it religiously though, as I can tell a BIG difference in mood/anxiety if I miss just one dose.
- Valium Somewhat Helpful
- Was taking Ativan for anxiety and Ambien for sleep and thought I could maybe replace both of those with Valium. Big mistake. Although it was sedating and worked fast, it didn't address my panic/anxiety anyehere near as well as the Ativan.
- Tranxene Working / Worked
- I take Ativan daily for social anxiety, but when I do have the occasional panic attack or terrible anxiety, I take Tranxene as needed. It is one of the quickest acting benzos and lasts a long time. Wonderful med!
Close Bipolar Disorder
Treatments
- Lithium Somewhat Helpful
- Couldn't tell that much of a difference. High risk med, unless nothing else works, it's not worth the hassle of having to get bloodwork done regularly to make sure your Li levels aren't toxic.
Open Insomnia
Treatments
- Ambien Working / Worked
- Didn't work by itself but works great in conjunction with Seroquel. Eases/mellows out the restless feeling Seroquel alone causes.
- Restoril Working / Worked
- Worked @30mg but doctor didn't want me on it long-term since it is addictive.
- Sonata Not Working
- did absolutely nothing
- Lunesta Working / Worked
- helped sleep but the metallic taste the next day was too awful. i was convinced something was wrong with our water until i found out the lunesta caused the taste.
- Seroquel Working / Worked
- cannot take alone, causes restless leg and general restlessness but works great with ambien. the ambien relaxes me enough to be able to lay down and the seroquel actually shuts my brain down/stops it from racing.
Open Depression
Treatments
- Paxil Not Working
- made my anxiety worse! also, it's withdrawal effects should be cautioned more than it currently is. it was horrible when i stopped taking it. "electric shock" sensations and disorientation and EXTREME agitation/irritability.
- Psychotherapy Not Working
- frankly, it pisses me off to have my answer to a question turned into another question over and over and over again!! (until the hour is up and cha-ching $). paying to talk to someone to tell you things you mostly already know doesn't make me feel better, but apparently it works for a lot of people....
- Zoloft Somewhat Helpful
- turned me into a zombie, or so i was told (i didn't really notice at the time)
Open Migraine Headaches

- Aspirin Working / Worked
- time-proven. works better in APAP/caffeine combo (Excedrin Migraine)
- Axert Not Working
- did nothing for migraines.
- Excedrin Working / Worked
- Take just about every day (Excedrin Migraine). the best OTC i've found unless I can choke down a BC Powder.
- Fioricet Working / Worked
- regular worked VERY slightly. fioricet 3 with codeine works better of course, but also has the risk of being addictive.
- Magnesium Working / Worked
- made my stomach upset. was told it could be the cheaper brands that do this.
- Midrin Working / Worked
- epidrin. usually works if i take 2 or 3. metabolizes into chloral hydrate but am curious to know if it is addictive. i don't think it is, but it is a CS-IV because of the choral.
- Zomig Not Working
- Made worse. caused a burning sensation in addition to the migraine I already had.
- Stadol Working / Worked
- take the nasal spray for severe migraines. works like a charm but have to be careful not to make a habit out of it.
- Migranal Not Working
- made my headache worse, the nasal spray caused it to burn and caused congestion- and is VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY expensive!!!
