Hiya all :) Just a few things about myself: I'm happily married to my very best friend in the world and after 2 years still adjusting to being a Navy wife :) I'm a writer, a musician, a poet...I love to read just about anything but have a fondness for classic works (Shakespeare, Dante, Salinger, Hemmingway...). Hmm...I love to cook and go to the beach. I'm originally from up North and have only been down this way about 2 1/2 years so I love the weather :) I have 3 crazy cats that my husband and I call 'our ladies' and I spend most of my days doing the domestic thing around here (being a housewife is still considered a job I think) and annoying the cats. I love life and people and though I'm shy, once I get to know you I can write you an e-mail that will be like a novel LOL It's taken me forever to find a site like this and I'm very excited. I'm 35 years old and was diagnosed w/ end-stage liver disease in August of 2008. Now I'm going thru the process of trying to get on the transplant list but it's slow and frustrating. I'm happily married, I adore pets, I'm a writer and I love life. Not much to me except, as my friends say..."I'm too sick to be fun anymore". God Bless.

Chelsey Ann,
Your husband is like the rest of them, they don't worry about it until it's time, IF then! This seems to be more so for military guys. My son didn't give me any info until minutes before his deployment and his wife has nothing. It gets easier if you take control now since you will be expected to take care of yourself while he is gone. My son told me that he wanted his wife to start to be more pro-active in finding info since he wouldn't be here to hold her hand while he was gone. He basically wanted to know that she was going to be ok without him to help her....in advance of his deployment. So, maybe that's another way of looking at it. Show him that you can survive without him holding your hand and that you are a strong woman with or without his help. You are or you wouldn't be a Navy wife! You can do it!!! Check into groups for the wives on the base also, that would be tremendous help for you and it's there for the taking.
Hey girl, hang in there. Just read your new jornal entry and my heart is with you. And I cannot wait to see your pic in that dress again.
Hopin to bring some sunshine in your life today! Thanks for the hug girl, we sure do need them at times.
Have a good day!

Hello :) I have been a Navy wife for almost 2 and 1/2 years now. I love my husband very much but still find myself having a hard time adjusting to military life. I have a hard time meeting other spouses in my area due to a medical issue, but I am friendly and outgoing and just hope to find some others here I can relate to. Thank you all for this group...I've been looking for one!
